Tails from the Trailz with Hudson Hound!

Why yes, I would just love a treat!

Before I ever met Hudson, I had it on good authority that he was one handsome hound, and I have to admit, those words do not do him justice.  With his beautiful coloring, big, floppy ears, and soulful eyes, Hudson gets lots of compliments when we’re hiking.  Good thing he’s modest and doesn’t let it go to his head.  😉

Hudson, who’s seven years old and in his prime, is pretty mellow most of the time – as long as he gets in his daily hike.  A true GoDog, he is a firm believer in getting enough exercise, and generally hikes 5-10 miles a day with his owner! This meant I had a lot to live up to, so on one of our first hikes together, I decided to take him to Pogonip, his absolute favorite place.

Something's about to be hounded

As soon as Hudson realized where we were going he became very excited, and all that excitement came tumbling out as a happy hound howl that filled our car.  When I looked back at him in my rearview mirror, all I could see was a frantically wagging tail.  With that encouragement urging me on, we quickly got to the trail and set out on our journey.

Hudson was very http://premier-pharmacy.com/product/premarin/ eager to take in all the sights and scents.  As we hiked swiftly along the trail we’d have to take periodic “sniffing” breaks so Hudson could smell what was up with the local wildlife.  It was amazing watching his entire nose moving as he sniffed at the air! Sometimes he’d choose trails to go down, and other times I’d have to coax him back on the main path, but all in all we made good progress.

On the way back we had a few extra sniffing breaks, as well as a quick stop so Hudson could get some love and attention from a group of admiring hikers.  After that we decided to run it back to the car.  Hudson quickly fell into a rhythm, racing alongside me, his ears flapping in the wind.  As soon as he began running, he stopped getting distracted by the local wildlife and just focused on the ground moving beneath his paws.

At the car he was a perfect gentleman, sitting patiently outside the door while I unlocked it and then taking his final treat very gently from me before relaxing against the seat for the drive home.  Once there, he curled up on his bed, looking like a very happy hound.  Until next time, Hudson!
